Designing and pricing a planned parallel processing system for image processing for a client. Idea is to host the system on the cloud. What are the options now for hosting a JPPF server and nodes these days. It seems to be just Amazon EC2 still. Is that the case? Sounds like some folks were using Rackspace but I can't find any mention of hosting a JPPF server on their site. Google Compute Engine and Open Shift also seem pretty quiet on the subject.

Any information/experience anyone has with hosting JPPF would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ken,

Indeed there isn't much information on cloud deployment for JPPF. All I can say is that our related documentation was contributed by users who had an actual experience of deploying on EC2 and Rackspace.

You might want to try and search for "EC2" and "Rackspace" in these forums and contact the users who initiated the topics (especially the more recent ones) via PM.

We're running JPPF on Rackspace.  We determined it was the best value for the scale of our network (about 60 8-core 8GB nodes connected to a single driver).

Just about any of the main cloud providers can provide sufficient resources to run JPPF.  Questions to ask would include CPU, Memory, and bandwidth charges for however you chose to set it up.
