JPPF Grid/Node configuration issue
« on: September 05, 2013, 03:32:21 PM »

Hello,

I have configured JPPF grid on one of the windows machine and JPPF nodes on 3 different windows machines.

I have installed Tomcat on the JPPF grid machine and deployed my application on Tomcat and changed the export.properties to reflect the MySQL DB store, Production webservice and paths of the command line executibles located on the JPPF node machines, which are located in webapps\xxxxx\WEB-INF\classes directory of Tomcat.

However when I start the Tomcat from the JPPF Grid machine and initiate the jobs from there, none of the jobs are getting picked up by any of the 3 nodes and the completed job count remains zero. (The jobs are to execute the commandline executibles from the node machines)

But when I go into any node and run the commandline executibles, they are working as expected.

Also I have placed the paths of the command line executibles in the environment variables and started Tomcat, but still facing the same issue.

So please suggest me if I need to do any other configuration settings before proceeding with the running of jobs.

Hello,

So as to better understand what is happening, we will need a little more information on what you are trying to achieve. Could you please provide the following:
- can you check the relevant Tomcat log(s) for errors or exceptions? Normally it would be in the catalina.xxx.log file and maybe another one created by JPPF. Also please check the Tomcat console output.
- the code (or at least an extract) which submits the jobs to the JPPF client, along with the tasks which attempt to run the executables on the nodes
- could you also describe how you integrate JPPF with Tomcat. Are you following the guildelines in the Tomcat sample? In particular, where is your JPPF client configuration file located and can you confirm that it is actually picked up?
- lastly, could you please confirm which version of JPPF you are using?

Thanks a lot for your time.

Sincerely,
-Laurent
