I apologize for not answering earlier.
I realize from your more recent post that you are using JPPF 2.1.1. In this version the mina-core-2.0.0-RC1.jar file is indeed required.
It's a result from an attempt on our side to use
Mina to replace the existing core communication framework in JPPF with an easier to use and maintain API.
Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in adapting it to the complexity and requirements of what has to be done in JPPF, so we switched back to the existing code.
So to summarize: this jar is required in versions 2.1.x, but no more in the latest version 2.2
